This Year's Model Updates:

Audi's rugged allroad quattro receives no changes, but the options list has been simplified. Rather than offering various "convenience," "preferred" and "warm weather" packages, a lengthy list of desirable features, including leather, xenons, sunroof and auto-dimming mirrors have been bundled into a handful of premium packages. A cold weather package includes front and rear seat heaters with a ski sack. The Parktronic parking assist system is now a stand-alone extra, and the rear-facing third-row seat has been deleted from the options list. Finally, for those who find the allroad's twin turbo V6 wanting, Audi is expected to introduce its 4.2-liter V8 sometime in the 2003 calendar year.

Pros:
  • Elegant interior, powerful twin-turbo V6, flexibility of adjustable-height suspension, competent off-road performance.
Cons:
  • High base price, turbo lag, suspension can be harsh over bumps, lousy fuel economy in city driving.

Someone has probably already called the allroad, the Swiss Army Knife of automobiles. Theyre correct. The version of the allroad that makes not only this "universal soldier" impression, but adds to it a huge dose of near sports sedan performance and fun is the manual transmission version. This car, unknown to most people is THE one car to have if you can have only one -- it can go anywhere, anytime, keep up with most everything else on the road and allow you and your passengers to arrive in style, comfort and safety.

Very fun to drive. Quick and nimble considering it is a great snow car. Aggressive looking enough not to be ignored and subdued enough not call for unwanted attention. Fun for longer road trips and a great every day kid (2,4) hauler.

An amazing car. It is too bad that Ausio chose nor to heavily promote this vehicle. It is probably one of the best designed wagons- hrbids ever made. An amazing ride!

My wife just traded an A6 2.7T sedan for her Allroad. Shes wanted a wagon for years and hates SUVs & Minivans. She loves AWD, and strong performance so the Allroad is perfect. Its a great blend of interior space, gorgeous interior & brisk performance (the new tiptronic is much more lively than the one in her 00). The more aggressive styling is pleasant without being overly masculine. We would do without the variable suspension, since well never off-road, but it may be useful if we have another winter like the last in PA.

Station wagons are cool again...its hard to be cool with two booster seats in back, but this car helps. This car is fun to drive(6 spd), has a beautiful interior, and has an impressive list of safety features. After owning a car for 8 mos. I am usually starting to think about whats next, but I would buy the Allroad again today in a heartbeat

Successful blend of utility and comfort, good looks; fun to drive. Power. Roomy. Many useful features like the ski storage, the net in the luggage area, etc. Unlike with other German cars, controls and information display are a perfect compromise between completeness and ease of use. Very comfortable seats, adjust easily. Cons: Insufficient lumbar support, road rumble, excessive tire wear ($800 per set every 20,000 miles), pronounced delay of turbines on dead start, initial glitches that are typical for German cars. But with the excellent Audi service at Maplewood Imports, I have trouble remembering the details of the faults. The care now runs flawlessly.

After having 3 and 5 series BMW crossovers and SUV, I finally got the Allroad. Wish I had gotten one years ago. Amazing ride, power, versatility, comfort. Quattro system is a blessing in bad weather, adjustable suspension works like a charm, family dog loves riding in the back separated by standard mesh screen. Perfect! Do yourself a favor and get one now!

  • Very Impressed... - 2003 Audi Allroad Quattro

I just picked up a 2002 Audi allroad quattro this week, and I couldnt be happier with its performance and elegant interior. Externally, its one of the best looking cars are the road - wagon or sedan. The car handles very well. The only drawback with the allroad is the poor fuel economy. Nevertheless, the car is amazing. After I had considered many SUVs (i.e. X5, ML 320, RX 300, GX 470), Im very glad I decided to get the allroad. Its aggressive styling, performance & utility made it the best option for my family.
